2022-12-28T00:00:00-03:00 Copyright (c) 2022 Oikos: Família e Sociedade em Debate https://beta.periodicos.ufv.br/oikos/article/view/13212 POTENCIAL AND LIMITS OF SOCIAL MOVEMENTS WITH FOCUS ON FOOD ACTIVISM 2023-03-13T12:07:45-03:00 Giuliana Franco Leal giulianafrancoleal@yahoo.com.br Luane do Nascimento Riedmann luriedmann@hotmail.com João Pedro Galdino Truta joaopedrotrutaufrj@gmail.com
This article seeks to demonstrate the importance of LGBTQIA+ political representation for the effectiveness of the Human Rights of these subjects, so the general objective is to study how the political participation of LGBTQIA+ people contributes to a fairer Western society, which guarantees and ensures Human Rights. The land problem is a global concern, beginning in the transition from the feudal economic system, when a minority group holding power controlled the means of production. This land problem is found in the global South and in Africa, where land is dominated by foreign companies, with the influence of the national intermediary elite and private interest. The system of customary use and inapplicability of State law makes rural women inserted in agriculture privileged victims of traditional customary use, without the right to land, lacking the incentive and action of the State to create favorable conditions to guarantee legal rights of access to cultivable land.

Key-words: Guinea-Bissau. To this end, it made use of a bibliographic survey combined with documentary research in order to explore both the tone of this discussion in the academic environment and to map empirical data on independent digital media. Based on the descriptive analysis of the material collected, a complex and heterogeneous picture of conflicts around migration was identified, in which the relationship between migrant mobilization and social movements appears in different ways, under the overlapping of demands and in different contexts. It also noted the need to expand knowledge about the ways in which migrants are mobilized and the articulations with Brazilian social movements.
2023-05-17T00:00:00-03:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Oikos: Família e Sociedade em Debate https://beta.periodicos.ufv.br/oikos/article/view/14696 The Social Movements: An approach to the reality of Viçosa - MG 2023-04-02T19:38:18-03:00 Marco Aurélio Silva Juscelino marco.juscelino@ufv.br Junia Marise Matos de Sousa junia.sousa@ufv.br
This work aims to carry out a mapping and overview of social movements in Viçosa, highlighting their performance and organization, following the premise that they are sources of innovation and knowledge-generating matrices. With this data it was elaborated five representative maps of the territorialities of each entity. The territories and territorialities thus revealed demonstrate multiple scales in the interior of each organization. From that, we can conclude that ENEP’s territory possess wide coverage in it’s possible connections. The ENEP’s space is potent for it’s complex territorial articulation, that amplifies the realized action upon ENEP.
The article aims to understand a marginalized territory and analyze how a Civil Society Organization (CSO) can influence the community's relationship with the territory of Nova Viçosa, located in Viçosa, Minas Gerais. This is a qualitative investigation, based on interviews with a semi-structured script. The results indicate that the CSO in the territory plays a fundamental role in guaranteeing fundamental rights, and its creation occurred almost concurrently with the creation of the Nova Viçosa neighborhood, providing a substantial improvement of life for the people who arrived in that locality, which until today lacks public attention. The study contributes to the literature by empirically elucidating the discussion on territorialization in marginalized places, as well as the exclusion of minorities, highlighting the performance of a CSO as an important element to mitigate public problems.
2023-05-17T00:00:00-03:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Oikos: Família e Sociedade em Debate https://beta.periodicos.ufv.br/oikos/article/view/12490 Breve histórico de Estado e Política Social no Brasil 2021-09-28T14:30:45-03:00 Augusto Cesar Soares Cunha cesarsoares_1807@yahoo.com.br Simone Caldas Tavares Mafra sctmafra@ufv.br
In order to understand the concept of the State and its implications for the development of social policies in Brazil, it was necessary to highlight the advances as well as obstacles in this path. Thus, this article aimed to bring the historical trajectory that involves the State and Social Policy in Brazil, inferring concepts that point out the relationship of the State with capitalism, federalism, social policies and decentralization, as well as presenting the main landmarks arising from the emergence of Brazilian Social Policy. This study was of a qualitative nature, sought, through narrative review and research in scientific databases, to explore the concept of State and Social Policies in Brazil. It was possible to observe that the history that involves the state and the social policy of Brazil is linked to the economy (capitalist approach), the sovereignty and the autonomy of the country until the Federal Constitution and federalism. Such a structure directly affected the development of social policies in the country.
2022-12-28T00:00:00-03:00 Copyright (c) 2022 Oikos: Família e Sociedade em Debate https://beta.periodicos.ufv.br/oikos/article/view/12583 A CCESS TO SOCIAL ASSISTANCE POLICIES IN A MUNICIPALITY IN THE BRAZILIAN LEGAL AMAZON 2022-01-18T10:43:37-03:00 André Brandão andre_brandao@id.uff.br Salete Dalt sdalt@uol.com.br Sidimara Souza sidi.mara@hotmail.com
The social assistance policy in Brazil was implemented late, after a lot of struggle by social groups that claimed its inclusion in the public agenda. In this sense, the creation of the National Social Assistance Policy constitutes a milestone, which points out the need to face socio-territorial inequalities. Such consideration of differences is what, at least in theory, would allow the development of specific assistance actions appropriate to population characteristics. Based on this understanding, we built the research that gave rise to this article. We investigated from a statistically representative sample the access of different population groups to the social assistance network in the city of Oriximiná-PA. After organizing and analyzing the collected data, it was possible to conclude that there are significant inequalities in access to the network and social rights, when we consider the different territories and their populations within the scope of the municipality.
