The present study is focused on the environmental management, and its educational aim is to emphasize the analysis of the sustainability dimensions (ecological, social and economic) when applied to Environmental Management actions in the private sphere, such as in “Produção Mais Limpa” and “ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems”. The decision-making involves Antonio, owner of the “Água Limpa” laundry, located in Agreste Pernambucano, and is related to the manager’s difficulty in finding economic and environmental solutions for the high cost of water – the noblest feedstock of the laundry. In this region, water is scarce, and the pollution in the Capibaribe River, coming from production waste, is subjected to pressure by the Government and by other entrepreneurs. In this study, we utilized, as a data source, magazine reports, as well as an interview with the manager of the laundry. The case aids relevant discussions regarding the Environmental Management and Social Management discipline in Administration programs.
