This study has sought to comprehend the history of the Management Post-graduation Program from the Federal University of Paraíba. It started from a historiographical perspective aligned to the premises of the Annales' School, having as a historical background the emerging of Post-graduation on Brazil, and using as main reference the National Plans of Post-graduation in Brazil. The methodology adopted has a qualitative character, using as main sources, the minutes of meetings and other documents available as well as interviews with former coordinators and vice-coordinators of the Program. The results point to five distinct phases: (1) creation; (2) consolidation; (3) expansion; (4) retraction;(5) restructuring. The relevance of the study consists on rescuing the institutional memory of this Program, mostly from a deeper discussion about the periods of greatest turmoil, where the CAPES indicated the possibility of disqualification.
