Abstract

The use of fungi inoculum in the production of vegetable seedlings is poorly studied in the literature. The objective of this work was to evaluate the production of tomato seedlings ‘Santa Clara i-5300’ in substrate of the fungi inoculum produced in coconut powder supplemented with wheat bran levels, and in soil mixture: fungi inoculum. The experimental design used was completely randomized in a 2 x 6 factorial scheme corresponding the two substrates [fungi inoculum (I) and the sandy soil mixture: fungi inoculum (S:I)] and six wheat bran level (0% -  control without fungi inoculation, and 0, 5, 10, 20 and 30% with fungi inoculation) and four replications. Supplementation of the fungi inoculum with wheat bran levels reduces the colonization period and increases the mycelial density of P. sanguineus, the pH, the nitrogen and phosphorus content after the complete colonization. Tomato germination is inhibited by the fungi inoculum, but the mixture of the soil: fungi inoculum favors germination and seedling development.
