Lettuce is the most cultivated and consumed leafy vegetable in Paraguay. The objective of this work was to evaluate the productive performance of crespa-type lettuce varieties produced in a protected environment in the summer period, under the conditions of the district of J. Augusto Saldívar, Central Department, Paraguay. Twelve varieties were evaluated (Alana, Vanda, Isabella, Graciela, Elba, Milena, Valentina, Jade, Brisa, Isadora, Invicta and Jonction). The experimental design used was a randomized complete block design with four replications. The harvest was carried out 31 days after the transplant and the variables evaluated were: diameter of the stem, diameter and height of the plant, length of the stem and root, number of commercial leaves per plant, total and commercial fresh mass per plant, as well as commercial performance by area. The data were subjected to analysis of variance and the means compared by Tukey's test at 5% probability. The Invicta variety presented the highest plant height and diameter. The Jonction and Jade varieties are the most productive and have the highest number of leaves per plant.
