The production of peaches in the Southeast is directed the fresh market. Thus, the fruit quality is essential to achieve better price, resulting in higher returns for producers. The objective of this study was to evaluate the quality of fruits in selected trees in F2 families for ability to sprout. The experiment was conducted in at Federal University of Viçosa (UFV). For the analysis of fruit samples of 10 fruits per plant were separated, and then evaluated skin color; fruit length; equatorial diameter; fruit weight, seed and pulp; firmness; content of soluble solids, acidity and soluble solids/acidity. From the analyses of variance, significant differences between the families were found. The 4503 family was had better results in all characteristics but produced fruit with skin without red pigmentation. Family 3303 had a higher percentage of red color on the skin of fruit, a characteristic important for market fresh fruits, but it has high acidity and low soluble solids/acidity. Considering all traits, the family that owns the fruits more attractive is the 1303, being more suitable for the fresh market.Downloads
