The possibility of use of waste generated in the production of biodiesel can be valuable in feeding ruminants, as the quantity of waste is great; Thus, the final disposal must be appropriately. It was tested the feasibility of using coco and coco bark residue replacing corn and soybean meal in the concentrate in 0, 0.4; 0.8 and 1.2 kg in a total of 2.5 kg/cow/day. The concentrate was given to dairy cows at milking time, twice a day, and the silage in the morning. Eight Hosltein-Gyr crossbred cows were used, being distributed in two 4 x 4 Latin squares, with an average of 11 kg of milk/day. The chemical analyses of milk were made in Embrapa Gado de Leite in Juiz de Fora-MG. Milk production and body weight were measured at the end of experimental period of 10 days. Analysis of variables was made in Latin square design. The statistical model included effects of treatment (replacement levels), Latin square (QL), animal/QL and period/QL at 5% probability. There was no difference in milk production. The levels of lactose, dry extract and degreased dried extract were significantly different, however the daily production in kg/day were not different. The bark and coconut of Macaw Palm can be used until 1.2 kg, out of a total of 2.5 kg of the concentrate / cow / day without affecting the performance of crossbred cows producing approximately 11 kg of milk per day in corn silage based diet.Downloads
