Systemic arterial hypertension (SAH) and diabetes mellitus (DM) are very prevalent pathologies in Brazil, when not treated properly they can cause severe complications. In this scenario, we at the Academic League of Diabetes and Systemic Arterial Hypertension (LADHAS), identified the importance of dedicating ourselves to an extension project, which the purpose is to disseminate information about these diseases, providing, thereby, to the lay and academic population. We used the Instagram social network as a means of disseminating this information. This is an experience report, named “LADHAS on networks”, carried out by 13 students of the League, which were responsible for disseminating information. Results: 44 publications were produced. We had in return a total of 786 likes, 166 submissions and 34 saves. We conclude, that social networks are very useful tools for disseminating health education and should be increasingly used.
