Abstract

The growth of Brazilian agribusiness and its position on the world stage, has troubled and caught the attention of several countries. The objectivity of this study was to determine a set of sustainable practices on the basis of the production chain of beef and demonstrate ways to take the positive image through certification and labeling. For this work it was used the method of literature search, the reading of scientific research already carried out and existing bibliographies that refer to the matter proposed. Sustainability arises to fight degradation by use of machinery, intensive land use, specialization of production and use of chemical inputs, which have led to the depletion of natural resources and at the same time, unforeseen negative socioeconomic effects. The adoption of sustainable production processes has increased the perceived value among consumers, turning them into differentiated products, rather than mere commodities. This fact increases the value of products whose profit margins outweigh the costs by adopting new practices.
