Non-formal education activities bring new perspectives related to dengue and other diseases transmitted by Aedes aegypti. The mobilization of several social strata becomes indispensable to minimize the impact caused by the vector in areas of greater concentration of cases, so the school is established as the door of awareness, involving students, employees, parents and the whole community. The objective of the activities developed was to approach the whole school community in an informal way, promoting awareness of individual measures to combat the vector. The contemplated schools are located in the neighborhoods with the highest incidence of dengue in the municipality of Passos, MG. About 600 children from the 1st to the 5th year of elementary school and more than 70 teachers and employees participated in the proposed activities, enabling the formation of a knowledge-based protection network on diseases and prevention.
