The Social Movements and Rights dossier brings together discussions on the importance of Social Movements in guaranteeing and building social rights, since the struggle processes and educational practices experienced by different groups contribute to the strengthening of democracy, social control, participation popular in different contexts and access to social rights and public policies. The dossier is composed of articles that cover different theoretical and methodological perspectives that advance in discussions related to different forms of collective organization that fight for life, human dignity, maintenance of identity and cultural aspects, and access to historically denied rights, especially by vulnerable and marginalized groups in society, seeking to maintain group memory, in addition to eliminating all forms of discrimination and oppression, from the perspective of human emancipation.
